El Colo Wines from Central Valley, Chile

Our El Colo wines are sourced from vineyards in Chile’s Central Valley and take their name from the indigenous Colo cat which is native to South America.  A rare and elusive wild cat its unusual and distinctive markings lend themselves beautifully to being the mascot for our wines.

Sauvignon Blanc

A refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of citrus, stone fruit and gooseberry chased by flavours of citrus, white peach and pineapple alongside subtle grassy notes. Ending with a crisp, dry finish.

Fermentation occurs at a cool controlled temperature, which is followed by early bottling, to conserve the zesty characteristics of the Sauvignon Blanc grape.

Enjoy chilled as an aperitif, or with your favourite seafood, salads or chicken dishes.

Merlot

Smooth, juicy and gently oak-aged. Soft with aromas of plums, complemented with red cherry and raspberry flavours and a hint of vanilla.

Quality grapes from select plots within Chile`s Central Valley go into making this rich Merlot. Fermentation occurs with grapes on skins and takes place over a week to extract real colour and concentration into this wine. The wine undergoes a small amount of oak ageing, producing a soft, fruit driven yet rounded style of Merlot.

Delicious by itself and with red meat, pork and mushroom based dishes. Also try with roasted vegetables.
